Chair of Music; Professor of Musicology and American Culture Studies; Faculty Affiliate in Performing Arts and in Film and Media Studies

Professor Decker has published four books on commercial popular music in the United States from the 1920s to the present. He teaches courses on twentieth-century American popular music, film music, and eighteenth-century European art music.

Along with Heather Corcoran, Todd oversees a new initiative called CREATIVE COLLABORATIONS FOR BIG PROJECTS.  It exists to connect fellow student collaborators and faculty mentors. The program includes competitive grants to support creative work, opportunities for input and critique by faculty from across the university on works-in-progress, and a opportunities to have work featured on the web where finished projects will inspire future WashU students.
